RDX®
RDX is an easy-to-use, affordable, and rugged removable disk cartridge. It is available in several capacities, ranging from 160GB to 1TB, from leading manufacturers such as Dell, IBM, HP, Imation, NEC, and Tandberg Data. More than 130 Petabytes of data has been stored worldwide on RDX disks by over 250,000 customers, so organizations can trust that the technology is here to stay.
InfiniVault and RDX: Pay-as-you-grow storage expansion
When used with InfiniVault, RDX disks offer infinite capacity: as each RDX disk fills up, it can be removed and replaced with an empty one. The InfiniVault offers backward- and forward- compatibility; basically any capacity RDX disk can be intermixed in the system. Therefore, organizations have the ability to tailor their system according to current and future storage needs, realizing dramatic cost savings as data grows because there’s no need to purchase a new system. The InfiniVault Model 3 offers three slots for RDX removable disks. Using 1TB cartridges, the Model 3 provides up to 3TB of online storage.
The InfiniVault Model 5 offers five slots for RDX removable disks. Using 1TB cartridges, the Model 5 provides up to 5TB of online storage.
The InfiniVault Model 30 provides 10 slots for RDX removable disks. Add up to 10 Removable Disk Units (RDUs) for up to 100TB of online storage.
The InfiniVault Model 100 provides two 10-slot Removable Disk Units (RDU) to accommodate a wide-range of applications with different policy requirements, while also providing scalable expansion options. Add up to 10 RDUs, for a total of 100 slots.
